| The bioinformatics technician (BIT) program involves gaining a knowledge and a variety of skills. Once you complete your bioinformatics technician curriculum, you will have learned about alignment formats, DNA and RNA, protein properties, computer systems and their parts, and basic concepts of the life sciences. Those who study in a bioinformatics technician programs have the opportunity to pursue many different career paths. Some of these include bioinformatics programmer, system administrator, technical support specialist, software developer, and more. Bioinformatics technician students tend to study and work a lot with computers, the sciences, and math. It is with an interest in these three main areas where bioinformatics technicians will be most successful. |
